Puerto Rican food is largely influenced by African, Spanish, and French cuisines.

However, with a heavy emphasis on pork dishes, Puerto Rico's most popular dish is Chuletas Guisadas.

This stewed pork chops dish can vary in taste from soup to dry with more or less sauce depending on the region of Puerto Rico where you are eating it.

It typically has vegetables such as bell peppers, onion, garlic cloves, and tomato sauce that cook down into a thick gravy for the meat to simmer until tender while rice cooks separately.

Ingredients

  • 6 – 8 Pork Chops
  • 2 Tbl of Sofrito
  • 1 Tbl of olive oil
  • 1 medium onion, diced
