March Goals & February Income Report

March is here, and I’m excited that spring is just around the corner. February was a harsh month for us as we dealt with a heating system breakdown, a sewage pipe dilemma, school paperwork, and other things that really aggravated me to no end this February. With my goals and income, it was an OK month.

To say the least, our emergency fund took another hit with more dental work needed and all of the reason above. On the positive note, the cost wasn’t as high as we anticipated, and my husband's tooth got fixed. We also survived the dress debate, as I saw it white and gold, then blue and black. Moving on, before we get into a debate about it. (I won!)

March Goals & February Income Report - March is here and my goals and income report for the months are ready for your viewing pleasure. February Personal Goals

Keep monthly grocery budget under $300 – This didn’t happen as I wanted it to. It was close to $400. I have to say, I was sick for an entire week and basically didn’t care, or look at, what we were spending. We ate take out..a few times… bows head in shame

Start shopping around for seeds – We are still looking, but we purchased a few seeds that we really wanted. This is something I do with my special needs cousin since he loves to garden. We are still coming up with plans as to how big, or how little, we want to go this year.

Drink more water – I failed at this. Do I drink water? Yes, I do; but not as much as I used to. I need to work on this big time.

Transfer the $15 saved from cable to our savings account – We started this, but a credit will be given to us by Comcast in March. They charged us a regular price in February because Comcast is just … Comcast? I did transfer the money though.

Go on a no spending fast the last week of February. I was proud of myself, as I didn’t spend any money unless we absolutely needed it, like milk for the kids.

February Blog Monthly Goals

Read last month's report.

This is upsetting for me, as my site really didn’t do as well in February as I wanted it to. When I evaluated why, I have to say that I focused on other things on my blog and in some cases, took some days off.

What I have to admit is that I am impatient, and when I see things go wrong, I take it hard. Add all the drama from the month alone, and seeing these numbers, I was kind of down; but to be positive and appreciative of my blog, 2 months ago my page views were at 3,000 a month!

I also improved on other aspects, as you will see on the recap below.

It is so easy to get discouraged, but when you sit back and evaluate your progress, you can put things into perspective. So if you are like me, and get discouraged or take it way too personal, look at the positive and what you are really good at.

Increase page views to 25,000 – Well, My Stay At Home Adventures didn’t do as well as I thought we were going to do. According to Google, we managed 17,911 views. According to WordPress, 24,870. So even if I want to look at WP, I still failed.

Introduce my friend to My Stay At Home Adventures. Sure did, and a lot of you enjoyed her writing. We are working together to get her site going, and I hope you check it out. She will be continuing to write for our blog, and I am so thankful for her, more thankful then she will never know! 😀

Increase my income to $125.00 – This gets confusing to a lot of people, and I want to explain something to you. If you have Google Adsense, you know that you get paid when you reach a minimum of $100.00, and other services do similar payouts. This is not the money I actually get in my bank account this month, I will be going over that later. I am going to break it down to you below:

Ad Network Income: $81.58

  • Adsense – $57.39
  • Media Net – $24.19

Escalate Network – $47.73

CapitalOne360 – $20.00

Total February Site Income – $149.37

Now, this is the money I received in my accounts.

  • Escalate Network – $34.46 (January money)
  • CapitalOne360 – $20.00
  • Google Adsense – $138.23

Total amount paid – $192.69

This took my sadness away, as you can see. I started to take my blog to the next level, all with the support of my husband ( I love saying this) and my friends. I work hard, alone, behind the scenes; for this reason, when I was feeling down and about to give up, that helped me to turn my mood around.

Escalate networks pay monthly, so I love this.

Work on my link party. This is getting better and better each week. Last week, we had more people that joined in, and I was so happy.

Social Media:

Increase my Facebook page likes to 1000, but most importantly, post views. This wasn’t accomplished, and I’m OK with that. I didn’t focus much into getting more likes, but into increasing post views. Doing the research (and testing it), I found the best way to increase the page views is to join Facebook blog groups, and have people like your posts.

Also, 24 hour postings on your Facebook seems to help a lot. As of 03/01/2015, my page likes are up to 961, up from 915 earlier this month.

That being said, people are so against paying for ads on Facebook, I disagree; I used a prepaid card with $5.00 on it, and truly saw results. If you want to take your blog to the next level, and you can afford a $1.00 a day, then invest in FB ads; they are really affordable. Also, use Facebook ad codes if your web host is giving you that, and you can advertise for free!

Increase my Pinterest followers to 800. I was right when I said that this was very doable, as I have over 900 followers on Pinterest. As of 03/01/2015, I have 961 followers, and with the way Pinterest changes, I need to focus on more followers, group boards, and paid ads. (Again, that paying thing).

I could sit here and write about other ways to improve my blog, but I have to focus on a few things at a time. Little by little, I will improve the blog.

March Goals

March is going to be a fun month for us, as our daughter is going away to Disney with the school. I am looking forward to getting my garden going and improving my site.

Blog March Goals

  • Increase my page views to 25,000 – I have to work hard on this one, but I think I can do it.
  • Work on site – I need to change some things around, and update a few things.
  • Increase Pinterest followers to 1100 – This can be done.
  • Increase Facebook Likes & start advertising – I want to increase my likes to at least 1000, but I also want to increase my views. Since I have a small amount of likes, this is sooo cheap to do.
  • Blog Income $125 – I am truly thinking this works, and I get this number again. 😀
  • Spend some dinero on Pinterest – Yes, people, I know I’m going to spend money. I want to try this Pinterest ad to drive traffic to my site. I know many of you are against it, but I am running a business here. I am not lucky, nor patient, like that. I will let you know how that goes.

There you have a recap on how my month went. I want to take the time to thank, again, the encouragement I am getting from my blogging friends with my son. I truly appreciate it! God is good, always. Remember that.

How was your monthly goals? Did you make your goals? Link them up if you post them, I would love to read them.
