My Personal Goals For Christmas

As I sit here fighting a terrible cold, and everyone is asleep, tons of ideas run through my mind. Ideas that I want to do before Christmas, and how I want to make this year a memorable one for everyone in my family. You could define 2014 for us as one of loss and happiness, mixed with some ups and downs. My motto is: when you get the good and the bad, you make the best of it. So for this upcoming 2014 Christmas season, I wanted to make sure it was memorable and fun for my family.

As I continue to sit here, I have so many ideas of things that I would love to do differently this year than other years.  I wrote down a personal to-do list for this Christmas then decided it to share it with you all.

I have found so many blogs full of ideas and recipes, so I wanted to create a post about what I wanted to accomplish before Christmas 2014 got here. When I write my ideas and turn them into personal goals on my blog, it gives me a sense of accountability. For that reason alone, I love writing them on my blog because they get done! 😉

This is like my Pre-Christmas bucket list, at least a small version of it, of what I would love to accomplish in the few weeks before Christmas.

My Personal Goals For Christmas

Bake 12 different kind of cookies.

One thing I love about the holidays is baking. Baking cookies is one of the things my family and friends look forward to. I would love to find recipes that includes my family in the baking progress. Nothing complicated, just simple and delicious. There are so many wonderful cookie recipes out there, I want to gather my top 12 cookie recipes to bake them and give them out to my family and friends.

Create homemade gifts.

I think homemade gifts, if done correctly, are awesome gifts. Again, I want to create simple and thoughtful gifts for my friends and family. This will also help us save money this Christmas season.

Create as many homemade meals as possible.

OK, I confess, I tend to use the excuse that I’m busy shopping to go eat out. I think I’m going to aim for 6 out 7 days to create delicious homemade meals this month.

Create 5 different fun kids crafts for my kids.

Again, Pinterest is full of these cute crafts, and I want to attempt them with the kids. Remember, I said attempt, I think my 16 year old and I will be more into crafting than my boys (4 and 2 years of age). The point is to create memories and have some family fun.

Mail out Christmas cards.

I have not done this in years and I love receiving them for some reason, as opposed to an online one. It's something personal and more meaningful. I must admit that I am a bit behind with mailing out thank you cards from our gifts thanks to a cold that continues to go around in our family. I want my family to get into this Christmas spirit and have fun doing it.

Introduce my kids to Spanish Christmas music.

I confess that I haven't done this, nor shared this, with my youngest boys. We were in Puerto Rico for our honeymoon, and I realized how much of their culture they don't know. Shame on me for not doing this sooner, but Pandora, here I come.

Bake 3 different styles of bread.

I love bread, and this year I would love try 3 different recipes. If anyone knows any bread recipes, please share it with me. I love breads and I am looking for simple and delicious bread recipes to bake this Christmas season.

Give, GIVE, GIVE.

I would love to give more this holiday, either money or volunteer. I need to teach my kids that this is the season of giving, not receiving. I need to set the example by including them in this process.

What do you think of my mini Christmas bucket list? I think my personal goals before Christmas are doable, don’t you think? If you have any suggestions, recipes, or anything, please feel free to share it with the link.

Do you have any goals/things you want to do before Christmas? Share it with me!

  16. This is a great list of goals!! My hubby makes marinara and pesto sauces for friends for Christmas so they get red and green sauces and they are such a huge hit every year. It takes a while to make homemade gifts; however, they are worth so much more to those who receive them than anything you could buy.

    1. Thanks Shannon! Your hubby’s marinara and peso sauces sounds delicious. Lucky friends! I agree with you on homemade gifts. It takes time and should mean something to those receiving them.
