This is a sponsored post in partnership with The Motherhood on behalf of UPMC Health Plan.

I don’t have to tell you that we are in the midst of cold and flu season. It seems like everyone I talk to has someone sick at their house. This time of year can be stressful for parents. Let’s face it…my kids always seem to be sick after the doctor’s office closes!!  Luckily there is a solution, and I am going to tell you how to get answers fast if your child has a fever!

With four children, I have dealt with more “illness” then I can count.  It is something most parents are used to because kids seem to be magnets for every germ that is going around. This is particularly top of mind for families as we’re in the middle of a widespread flu season this year.

In the past, I would stress about whether I should take my child to an urgent care facility if they were sick and it was during the evening or a weekend. It is hard to know if their symptoms warrant getting bundled up and driving somewhere or if they just need some comfort, care and time to feel better.

Your child has a fever and right now all you can think about is getting answers fast! There is an app called UPMC AnywhereCare and it might be what you have been looking for. Learn how you can win a digital thermometer when you sign up. #AnywhereCare Ad

UPMC AnywhereCare is Making Things Easy for Families

When I found out about UPMC AnywhereCare I was overjoyed! This app takes the stress and worry away from me because I can get the answers I need right away.

UPMC AnywhereCare is a real-time video consultation with a quality healthcare provider. This consult will be via video on your phone, tablet or even computer with a desktop webcam.

The app is free to download and it is also free to sign up for an account. Keep reading to learn more about how you can win a thermometer when you sign up by March 5!  Visits start at just $49, but if you have a UPMC Health Plan the cost is often a lot lower and will be similar to what your co-pay is at your primary care physician.

This is offered to anyone in the whole state of Pennsylvania. If you live outside of PA, you can still use this service! Other areas will see doctors staffed from Online Care Group (OCG).

This is a great alternative to urgent care, retail clinics and emergency room visits for non-emergency conditions.

How UPMC AnywhereCare Works

The first thing I did was download the UPMC AnywhereCare app onto my phone. This can also be used on a computer.

If my child is running a fever, not feeling well or has some other non-emergent symptoms I can get quality care for them ONLINE…right then. The best news is that it can be ANYTIME day or night.

I don’t have to bundle them up and drive somewhere in the middle of the night. I can do it all from the comfort of my home.

Just open the app, and start the online visit with a healthcare professional. It is that simple.

Some of the common conditions that are perfect for using the UPMC AnywhereCare app are:  cold and flu symptoms, sinus infections, upper respiratory infections, bronchitis, urinary tract infections, conjunctivitis (pink eye), coughs and allergies.

Enter for a Chance to WIN a Digital Thermometer

Would you like to have a digital thermometer? Well…you could win one!

All you have to do is sign up for the UPMC AnywhereCare App by March 5 to be automatically entered to win a digital thermometer.

Convenience and Peace of Mind

I love the convenience and peace of mind knowing I can connect with a healthcare professional quickly when someone I love doesn’t feel well.

Be sure to download the mobile app TODAY or bookmark it on your computer.  Sign up for your free account so you have a chance to win a free digital thermometer!
