How to make flancocho

Now that you have gathered your ingredients, it is time to make flancocho. All you have to do is follow the steps below:

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Prepare the caramel: Place the sugar in a large pan over medium heat and cook until the sugar has dissolved and is just beginning to brown. Be careful not to burn it. Pour it into the baking pan, tilting it so it evenly coats everything.
  3. Prepare the flan: Beat the condensed milk with the evaporated milk, heavy cream, and vanilla. Add the eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. You want to ensure the eggs are evenly incorporated, or you could end up with a large lump of cooked eggs in your flan layer.
  4. Pour the flan mixture over the caramel. Place the dish in a larger baking dish and pour hot water into the larger pan. Cover with aluminum foil and take to the preheated oven. Cook for 25 to 30 minutes or until the flan is just set.
  5. Prepare the chocolate cake according to the package directions. Pour the chocolate cake mix over the flan and take it to the oven again. Bake, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until done.
  6. Remove from the oven and let it cool down completely before refrigerating.
  7. Serve cold.
