- boneless chicken breasts
- olive oil
- sea salt
- yellow onion
- minced garlic
- chicken broth
- hot sauce or buffalo wing sauce
Now that you have gathered all your ingredients to make IP Buffalo Chicken, follow the steps below to finish making the recipe.
Uncover your Instant Pot and plug it in and press the Sauté button.
Add the olive oil to the Instant Pot Liner and heat.
Once the oil is heated, add the onion, salt and garlic into the Instant Pot and stir often.
Stir for about 2 to 3 minutes until translucent.
Next, add the chicken and brown on both sides.
Once the chicken is browned, add the chicken broth and hot sauce and stir.
Close Instant Pot and press the Manual button or Pressure Cook button, set to high and 15 minutes.
Once the Instant Pot is done allow it to Natural Release for 10 minutes and then Quick Release the pressure.
Open the Instant Pot and shred your chicken using a fork.

Yes, you can! Using a freezer friendly bag or container pour the cooled chicken sealed and date. When you are ready to enjoy it, thaw it and reheat it.
You can just add the ingredients uncooked and when you are ready add them to your Instant Pot and cook it too.
Shredded Buffalo Instant Pot Recipe

- 2 large boneless chicken breasts
- 1 Tablespoon olive oil
- 1 Tablespoon sea salt
- 1 small yellow onion, chopped
- 1 Tablespoon minced garlic
- 2 cups chicken broth
- 1/4 cup hot sauce
Turn on sauté function on your Instant Pot.
Add and heat the olive oil. Add the onion, salt and garlic. Stirring often, cook 2-3 minutes, or until translucent.
Add your chicken and cook 2-3 minutes or until brown on both sides.
Add chicken broth and hot sauce and stir.
Lock the lid on your Instant Pot and set to high pressure and cook for 15 minutes. Release pressure naturally for 10 minutes and release remaining pressure.
Shred chicken with a fork. Drain sauce and set aside for dipping sauce. Optional
