Tips I’ve learned from Labor and Delivery Nurses

This review was made possible by iConnect and Pampers.  I was provided compensation to facilitate this post, but all opinions stated are 100% mine.

I’m expecting my baby in a few weeks, and no matter how many times I’ve been through the experience of giving birth, I have come to learn some tips from labor and delivery nurses; and I have also learned to appreciate all allied medical workers out there.

During the birth of my son, I learned to appreciate how hardworking and dedicated these labor and delivery nurses are. My first child was not born in a hospital, and I never really experienced much with hospitals until I became pregnant with my fist son.

The pregnancy was a difficult one and required many overnight stays in order to keep my baby safe. During my stays, many of these amazing nurses will stay and chat, and some I went to high school with!

The tips that I’ve learned from labor and delivery nurses helped me during my difficult pregnancy and delivery and I wanted to take the time to share some of them with you all.

Tips I’ve learned from Labors and Delivery Nurses

Get out of bed – Moving around and changing positions helps ease the pain.

It is OK to say you are scared – We are all afraid of pain, tearing, needles, and much more; letting nurses and doctors know about it is OK. Expressing your fears and concerns can help ease you, odds are that they can help.

Ask questions – It is OK to ask questions, it is your right. You are allowing people to take care of you, and you have the right to ask questions.

As you can see, these are very important tips and many more that labors and delivery nurses have shared with me and I hope they help you on your next delivery.

Let’s be real; from holding our hands during labor, to being there to teach us about diaper changes, their dedication to provide us with the best care for us moms and our babies leaves a deep, long-lasting impression that fosters a bond of trust and transcend the hospital experience.
