3 Handy Items We Carry With Us All the Time

I love to think that when it comes to preparedness, I have it down pat. The reality is that sometimes I don’t. With kids, and now a newborn, lack of sleep, running a household, and work picking up, things are very hectic. After months of this, we have come to depend on a few handy items we carry with us all the time that are truly life savers.

You see, I thought I had it all down pat. I am a creature of habits and consistency, and when raising my daughter for 12 years alone, I thought I knew it all. Then my boys came and threw away my habits and my much-loved consistency when it came to my life.

My children are happy kids and simply love life; it wasn’t an unhappy change of habits for us, it's just what happens when you have children, four children to be exact. Last month we welcomed our 4^th  baby, a boy, and I am so glad that we will be ready for what adventures this little one will add to our family.

During the summer when school is out, and the weather is great, we go places; we spend the majority of our summer days outside and busy. Because I just had my baby, had major surgery, have kids routines to deal with and a high school senior that requires attention (Yes they do!), I have come to depend on these three handy items.

So what are these 3 handy items we carry with us at all times?

Portable battery charger

You might think this sound nuts, but you will find one or two portable tablet/cell phone battery chargers. With technology, and my work depending on technology, it is important to have a backup plan just in case the cell phone or the tablet battery dies.

Cell phones are not only to make calls; they are my GPS, my camera, and sometimes “mommy needs a few minutes, here’s youtube” item. I also need to read emails when I’m waiting for kids or other events.

Sanitizers

Something that many people carry around, and when you have kids, it is a must. It seems like my kids love to explore everything, and that includes touching with their hands things that I don’t think I have never touched in my life. Let’s be real, kids are kids; when it comes to having clean hands, you have to side with caution and use a sanitizer.
